Our neighbors Wally and Linda took us and John on a fishing trip on Sunday. Everyone around us was catching fish, fish were jumping out of the water beside us and we didn't catch a thing!
The boys launching the boat.
The crowd of boat, all fishing.
The guys next to us netting their catch to our cries of, not fair, that was our fish.
Alluring lures.
Bull kelp.

Sneak Preview
Oh, wow, do we love our new bedroom. Tonight a full moon was rising and the view of it from our room was spectacular! Here is our bed with a temporary, queen size, bedspread on it since we haven't found a king spread we like.
The rest of the room from the bed area.
A peek into Buck's office, the former guestroom.
The bookcase in my studio. Finished but still full of tools. Later I did put a few books and a photo on it. Sort of marking my territory. Mexican looking rug is there just to protect the carpet while work continues.
The bathroom..counter, sink and the cherry window frame. Still not quite done...plumbing not connected.
This view shows a bit of the floor and our back splash tile. It should all be finished on Monday.

A Little Closer
Dave and Julie painting in the studio.
Pat the acrobat getting started on the ceiling in our bedroom.
Pat and Ken working on the ceiling.
The red door, which will welcome everyone into my studio. I'm trying to look casual/natural while also avoiding the wet paint (which I applied with my own hands!) and also not knock the door over. I was successful with all except the casual/natural part.

Golf/Dinner
Dinner on the deck with Joy and Mia. Menu: cheese and crackers, oysters with Teriyaki sauce, Sambucca & Parmesan cheese and red pepper jelly toppings for pupus, stir fried prawns and green beans with a tamrind sauce, green salad (thanks Mia) and rice for the main course and then bananas sauted in butter with a bit of brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg sprinkled on them and then served over vanilla ice cream.
They continue making progress on the Quadra golf course. The club house, actually the pump house for the sprinkler system but called the club house for now. A few empty beer cans a test to its status. Also in the picture the big water, and maybe only, feature.
One of the fairways all we need now is grass. Green-to-be in the foreground. It sounds like grass may be delivered in September when it isn't so dry.

All Is Not Work
Our guard cat is keeping watch over the property.
All is ready for a round of golf.
Buck tees off... into the abyss.
The gallery enjoying wine and olives and not making wise cracks.
Putting toppings on oysters. Pepper jelly or Sambuca with Parmesan cheese.
Finishing them off on the grill.
Zucchini anyone? They are beginning to come out of our ears...time to make pickles.

Lastest with the addition
This is Richard, our mudder, sanding the drywall. He is a perfectionist and it was hard to get him to stop so we could move on to painting. If I had his job I'd be happy to stop!
This is a close up of what he is standing on. Tres scary!!
Buck painting a cabinet which will go above the toilet. He disassembled it, sanded it and painted it..hasn't put it back together again. Yet.
My workshop in the shed. I oiled the large wooden frame (leaning against window wall) for the bookshelf for my studio and all of its shelves.
Some details of the beautiful wood I worked on. It is cherry from our property. Same tree I mentioned when I posted the picture of me oiling the window frame.
Inside. Studio has primer on it. Master bedroom has some paint. This is the hall from the bedroom to the studio. You can see a little paint on the left. So far I don't have a good paint on wall picture. Entrance to bathroom and our closet on the right.
Hall from Studio to bedroom.
Studio from door. Big thing against the wall is for the window sill.
Studio looking towards the door to the outdoors.
The bookshelf will go on the nook to the right of the door. The stripe is the color of the walls.
Our door otter seems happy with his new home. The view certainly is better than it was when he looked into the carport.

Monday's Good Fun
The shadows are forming in the orchard, the sun is lower in the sky. Evening approaches, it's time for a party. The Frishholz/Walsh gang is expected soon. The food table is read to receive the bounty they will bring.
At the point the dinner tables await the guests.
The chef is cooking the chicken. On the menu: appetizers from Sarah,(Crackers, chips, dip and yummy cheese with nuts and cranberries in it) Salads from Mia: quinoa, broccoli and green, plus chicken, Indian and plain potatoes and cookies for dessert. And wines and beers of the region.
Some beer fumes for baby. Her Irish cousin is trying not to looked shocked. This is Killian..I'm quite sure I'm not spelling his name the Irish way.
The group has gathered.
Relaxing and taking in the view. Right to left: Rose, Sarah, Mia, Doni, Derek standing, Eion, Louise, Andy and John's legs.
John.
Rose takes charge, "No more wine John!" Or is she saying, "all mine!"? It was a lovely, jolly evening.
