And The Summer Goes On

Our beautiful summer weather continued into August and early September.

My first attempt at creating a hanging basket.

Plein air on our deck with the painting group
A few apples, a few plums - not many thanks to the tent caterpillars

Apple picking
The new garden is growing

and growing

Heron in the tree top

Heron on the beach -sounds like a children's song

A beautiful day for a sail

A snail passing through

YUM! Baked oysters and salmon skin sushi for dinner

...and a glass of wine on a sunny evening
Our friend Carole Tarington came for a visit.

It was Monday so we went to the hardware store and tried on work gloves.

On of our friends replies to questions asking, What do you do on Quadra? With, "On Monday we go to the hardware store and try on work gloves. Don't buy any. On Tuesday we take the recycling, Wednesday is trash night"..and on it goes. We have great fun thinking up things we do. Tomorrow we will watch the 4 pm ferry come in.
A lovely evening at April Point resort

A cruise ship sailing by on its way south. They sail by the west side of Quadra, we live on the east.

Sunset from April Point
A large cloud bank with the mountains peeking over it
Our friends Perry and Sally Sorenson came to visit. Buck and Perry discuss the fog bank over their morning coffee.

The beach, the tide pool and Hernado Island in the back ground

Perry, Buck and Sally
Orca going by!

Off to Victoria we went. Perry and Sally with the Empress Hotel in the back ground
A large old arbutus tree (also called Madrona)

Harbor reflections

Street art
Parliament lit up at night
And the next morning our breakfast was delivered to our room in a basket. We stayed in the Humbolt House B&B and breakfast was crepes-seafood for me and fruit for Buck. After Breakfast we headed to Portland, Oregon.
